SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT

QUALIFICATIONS :

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Minimum age to qualify as a School Bus Driver for CCPS is twenty-three (23) years old.


• Successfully submit for & satisfactorily complete a Criminal Background Check & fingerprinting pre-employment screening.


• Satisfactorily complete a Physical certification by a licensed Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy; to be physically able to operate a school bus. Physical MUST be on required DEFORM 0514, & must be within 60 days prior to the date of employment


• Successfully submit for & satisfactorily complete a drug screening.


• Possess or be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in Class A, B or C proper P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements.


• Possess acceptable driving record. Points against Driver’s License cannot exceed 5 points within a three (3) year period to be insurable by the school system insurance carrier. MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) will be requested for the past seven (7) years from the Georgia Department of Driver Services (*Out of state applicants must provide this document prior to any driver training.)


• Successfully complete school bus driver training program & courses as prescribed by the state & local boards of education.


• Attend in-service meetings & training courses as assigned.


• Establish & maintain cooperative & effective working relationships with others.


• Understand & relate to children with special needs.


• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Maintain regular attendance.
