SCHOOL BUS MONITOR

TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required


• Ability to pass a criminal background check

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining discipline on the school bus; monitor & assist students while the bus is in operation.


• Assist with safe loading & unloading of students & seating arrangements as required.


• Requires the ability to lift students according to established guidelines; must be able to lift, carry, push/pull weights up to a minimum of 50 pounds.


• Maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures.


• Observe health & safety regulations.


• Attend in-service meetings & training courses as assigned.


• Establish & maintain cooperative & effective working relationships with others.


• Understand & relate to children with special needs.


• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Maintain regular attendance.
